Perceptyx Earns Spot On Inc. 5000 List For Fourth Consecutive Year
By John Borland, Perceptyx CEO - August 26, 2019
We are pleased to have earned a spot on the Inc. 5000 list for the fourth consecutive year. The Inc. 5000 is an annual ranking of the 5,000 fastest-growing privately-held companies in the U.S. This year’s honorees will be celebrated at the 2019 Inc. 5000 Conference & Gala, to be held October 10–12 in Phoenix.
This year we moved up over 1200 points in the rankings, thanks to accelerated growth in 2018. Perceptyx experienced revenue growth of 89% from 2014 to 2017, and our rate of growth in 2018 was higher than in 2017—in fact, in 2018, we experienced our largest year-over-year growth percentage-wise in a decade and added more new customers than in the three previous years combined, when we were also featured on the list.
Much of our growth is attributable to our focus on working with large enterprise organizations. Perceptyx counts nearly 30 of the Fortune 100 among our clients, and we work with numerous Fortune 1000 companies. In fact, we serve a higher concentration of large organizations with company-wide employee listening programs than any other provider. Thanks to our unique capability to deliver for large enterprises and our stellar 95% customer retention rate, we experienced even more growth in the past year than in the previous years we were ranked.
Another factor driving our growth over the past year is our expansion outside the U.S. In 2018, Perceptyx opened several European offices, which have been very successful. We plan to build on this success by expanding to other global regions over the next few years.
Where We’re Going & How We’re Growing
Since our founding in 2003, Perceptyx has self-funded and fueled our own growth. Our next chapter includes a new partnership with TCV, one of the largest private equity funds backing public and private technology companies. The TCV partnership will allow us to meet the market demand for a broader talent management and people analytics platform, faster. This will be useful for large enterprise organizations to better understand their people and manage their talent in a more data-driven, science-based approach.
Our vision for the next several years is to take our current best-in-class employee listening/engagement survey platform and expand on it through new product offerings. Expanding to other related talent management applications will complement the survey work we do, and give our clients more data that can be leveraged through analysis, machine learning, and other advanced technologies. This will enable us to extract additional insights from survey data, allowing our client organizations to know their people better and increase and improve the key performance indicators that matter most to them.
The partnership with TCV will enable Perceptyx to move more quickly on both of our main strategic goals: expansion of our product offerings and establishing a wider geographic reach. As we accelerate our growth in the coming years, we expect to continue to see Perceptyx appearing—and moving up—on the Inc. 5000 list.
About The Inc. 5000
Companies on the 2019 Inc. 5000 are ranked according to their percentage of revenue growth from 2015 to 2018. (Tweet this!) To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by the end of the first quarter in 2015. They must be U.S.-based, privately held, for-profit, and independent companies—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2018. To qualify for the list, companies’ minimum revenue for 2015 must have reached $100,000, with a $2 million revenue minimum for 2018.
Since 1982, Inc. has honored the extraordinary journeys of the fastest-growing privately-held companies in America. In its first year, Inc. recognized the fastest-growing 500 companies with the Inc. 500 list. In 2007, the list was expanded to include the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies with the Inc. 5000 list. It is the most prestigious honor for growing private businesses and business leaders.
